Unannounced Hiatus Due to Too Many Events!

Everyone was born in either July or August as far as I can tell.

Then they decide marriages should occur in the same time.

Let us not forget the retirement parties and banquets that come along.

For some reason, this has left me little time to read or write for my blog.

(Not to mention the job hunting and related events.)

Now I hope next week I finally catch up, but I am taking the weekend to go play a game and avoid my normal responsibilities. All of them.  It doesn’t matter which.

I think all of us need to do that from time to time.

My Spirit Animal Is A Cougar

Your Score: The Cougar

Here’s your results! Your spirit animal has a Nobility ranking of 13 out of 18.

Your spirit animal is the cougar. It is a stealthy and deadly protector. With a cougar as a spirit animal, you have nothing to fear in this world. Your life is blessed and you are on the right path. You will still have hard times, but you will pull through them, always stronger for your travails. Congratulations, few are fotunate enough to have such a spirit animal!

***Wondering how this animal was chosen for you? These questions were carefully thought out to see how important you hold certain virtues such as: humanism, self-knowledge, rationalism, the love of freedom and other somewhat Hellenic ideals. Some of the questions were very subtle. Your score was then matched with an animal of corresponding nobility. However, you shouldn’t think this was a right/wrong sort of test, but more of an idealistic values test. It’s ok to not hold these values, you’ll just get an animal spirit of lower stature if you do!***

Interestingly, this was my favorite land animal as a child…

Some Tarot Fun

You are The Empress

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.

The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents,
beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home
decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

Blog Look Change…

I hadn’t realized that the color scheme I had selected was troublesome for some readers. (Thanks, KatieD!)  I have changed to the really nice VERYPLAINTEXT theme by Scott Allan Wallick. If you are running WordPress, I highly recommend it.

At some point, I will probably try a new design again, but have been a bit on the busy side. First, I admit I am no graphic artist! I still like tinkering, though :-) . The problem I have is I don’t have a good way to test what works on other computers. I’m sure there are tools out there that I am just too lazy to go out and find, especially when someone has already done it for me!

Anyway, reading my last post, I thought it was a bit high-falutin’ sounding. But, it does effectively express my rather disparate and disorganized thoughts on the Nicene Creed. I am using the blog to explore my own beliefs so, it will reflect the mood I’m in – which may or may not be influenced by outside forces.

I also love Fantasy Romance Chick Lit – not that you can tell, or anything. So, I’m going to attempt to keep up the blogging on that.

I also really want to explore the dearth of good information and education on a variety of health issues that have affected me, my family, and my friends. Some as scary as CJD (Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease), various cancers, infertility and pregnancy complications, allergy, and heart disease.

And, of course, I want to talk about my various, often, slow-going, knitting projects. Of course, this admits that I am still working on the same pair of socks for almost a year now… Not to mention the start of some towels that I have gotten cast on – but not really started. I am going to get through my stash. Really, I am! (At least, that is what I tell my dear husband.)

Now, the question is will I be able to accomplish this with my tendency for, well procrastination?

Not Blogging Recently

I know, I haven’t written much lately. Reasons are many, here’s a shortened list:

  • Shock at Pet Food Situation (working on entry now)
  • Shock at Congress’s Inability to Use Powers Appropriately (Impeach ENTIRE Administration NOW!)
  • Busy at Work
  • Busy at Home
  • Busy Plotting Out Master Plan to Get Food Related Diseases Noticed (Kinda of related to #1)

Yep, I have blog entries in draft but I get sooo mad at what is happening to our beloved pets that I start to see red as I write. It is actually easier to respond to others’ posts.
